CALI Free Guarantee Service Rules
The following conditions apply to CALI Free Service:
- Carrier must be notified of pickup request at least two hours prior to Shipper’s closure, and no later than 3:00 PM local (Shipper) time.
- Shipment must be available for pickup no later than 5:00 PM local (Shipper) time.
- Receiving customer must be open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local (Consignee) time.
- Applicable only to Regional Delivery shipments wherein Carrier performs both the pickup and delivery services through the use of intra-company Carrier service (single carrier — no agents or interlines).
- Eligible shipments must include a legibly written “CALI” or a “CALI” sticker on the bill of lading. Stickers are available upon request from your local sales representative.
- Billing adjustment requests must be filed through the Carrier website or through Customer Service within 15 days of the shipment’s originally scheduled delivery date. If the shipment charges have already been paid, then a refund will be issued in the amount of the paid charges.
- This guarantee will not apply whenever shipments are tendered for pickup outside normal Business Hours (defined as 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays).
- The following are excluded from CALI Free Service:
- Shipments with pieces over 15 feet in length
- Shipments that require protective service
- Shipments that require special handling equipment (e.g., liftgate)
- International shipments
- Multi-carrier moves (e.g., agents or interline Carriers)
- Hazardous materials
- Deliveries requiring an appointment or notification before delivery
- High security buildings (e.g., UN headquarters)
- Convention centers, carnivals, fairs, circus
- COD or order notify shipments
- Mines or other limited access locations (see Item 752)
- Prohibited or restricted articles (see Item 780)
- Shipments where Carrier declined the service request prior to departure from origin city
- Shipments tendered by payers with credit accounts not in good standing
- Deliveries to non-commercial and special locations (see Item 752)
- Affected metropolitan areas during times of High or Severe Conditions as defined by the Homeland Security Advisory System.
- Carrier’s maximum liability for its failure to comply with the terms, as set forth herein shall be limited to the cancellation of net linehaul transportation charges on the applicable shipment. Carrier shall have no liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from its failure to perform in accordance with the terms as set forth herein.
- This service can be canceled, suspended, or revoked at the sole discretion of Carrier without prior notice; and, if canceled, suspended, or revoked, Carrier shall have no further obligations hereunder.
